The Tax Representative Alliance (TRA) is an association of independent VAT specialists from several countries. Only one company from each country can be a member of the TRA. The TRA members agree exclusivity to each other, so if a member has a client who requires VAT registration in another country, they refer the client to the TRA member in the other state.
The fundamentals for the cooperation of the TRA members are the alliance statutes, the periodic newsletters and the annual meetings. Every member firm must participate in the annual meetings, because it is very important to know each other personally in order to do successful business together. Also current developments in the VAT sector are presented at the annual meetings and in the newsletters, so TRA members have the most up to date information to provide to their clients, thus having an advantage over other competitors.
